Salman al-Farsi recommended the Persian trench technique, unfamiliar to Arabian warfare. When Amr ibn Abd Wudd leapt over a narrow neck with companions, Ali met and slew him in an epic duel. Nu'aym ibn Mas'ud sowed mistrust between Banu Qurayza and Quraysh. A violent hurricane finished the siege.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَاءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا
“O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of angels] you did not see.”
وَرَدَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا خَيْرًا ۚ وَكَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتَالَ
“And Allah turned back those who disbelieved in their rage, having gained no good. And sufficient was Allah for the believers in battle.”
