Sayyid Quraysh (Leader of Quraysh), Patriarch of the Umayyads • رضي الله عنه
The supreme political chieftain and merchant prince of Quraysh who led Makkah for decades. Accepted Islam on the eve of the Conquest of Makkah through the mediation of Al-Abbas; the Prophet ﷺ honored him proclaiming: 'Whoever enters the house of Abu Sufyan is safe.' Fought valiantly at Hunayn and lost both his eyes in battles defending Islam at Ta'if and Yarmuk.
