As-Siddiq (The Truthful), Companion of the Cave •
The closest companion to the Prophet ﷺ, the first free adult male to accept Islam, and the first Caliph of Islam. He accompanied the Prophet ﷺ on the Hijrah, funded early Muslim emancipations, and preserved the unity of the Ummah.
“If you do not aid the Prophet - Allah has already aided him when those who disbelieved had driven him out as one of two, when they were in the cave and he said to his companion, 'Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us.'”
“The Prophet ﷺ said: 'If I were to take a Khalil (intimate friend) from my Ummah, I would take Abu Bakr, but the Islamic brotherhood is sufficient.'”
