The Learned Scholar of the Children of Israel Promised Paradise • رضي الله عنه
The chief Jewish scholar and rabbi of Yathrib who upon first seeing the face of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ declared: 'I looked at his face and knew that it was not the face of a liar.' The Prophet ﷺ promised him Paradise in explicit hadiths, and scholars identify him with the witness mentioned in Surah Al-Ahqaf (46:10).
“Qays ibn Ubad reported: 'I was sitting in the Mosque of Madinah when a man entered with humility on his face. The people said: This is one of the people of Paradise. It was Abdullah ibn Salam.'”
